In Wallonia, a residential rent is indexed once a year, on the anniversary of the lease's entry into force, with the health index published by Statbel. The 2022-2023 limits tied to the EPC (PEB) certificate no longer apply.

Does the EPC still limit indexation in Wallonia?
No. Indexation was limited by EPC rating between November 2022 and October 2023. Since 1 November 2023 the standard formula applies, with no correction factor.
How is rent indexation calculated in Wallonia?
Base rent × health index of the month before the anniversary ÷ health index of the month before the lease was signed. The base rent is the one in the lease, without charges: no compounding.
