Belgian health index: the monthly values

Statbel publishes the health index every month. It is the index Belgian rents are indexed with: the index of the month before the lease's anniversary is compared with that of the month before it was signed.

Base 2025 or base 2013?

Statbel rebased the health index to 2025 = 100. A lease signed from 2026 uses base 2025; an older lease keeps base 2013. The starting index and the new index must always come from the same base.

How is the indexed rent calculated?

Base rent × health index of the month before the anniversary ÷ health index of the month before signature. The free calculator looks up both indices for you and applies the EPC correction factor in Brussels and Flanders.
